About Askiy
Askiy was developed and launched to address a critical market void identified by our founders, a team of experienced sustainability solutions analysts.
There are many data analysis companies out there – we found none with a focus on helping companies decide how to meet their sustainability and energy savings goals and then maximize the benefits of those investments through effective, affordable ESG reporting.
In fact, we found this gap to be one of the single greatest stumbling blocks for businesses wishing to adopt greener technologies.
Our core belief as a team is that only business can move us toward the lower carbon future the world needs to reach. Government policy and consumer demand can help light the way, but as the primary emitters, it’s only business and industry that can make the urgently needed changes.
We’re in the business of inspiring action by providing the critical information decision-makers need – and then celebrating those decisions by informing stakeholders through easy-to-produce, engaging reporting.

George Filtsos
Chief Technology Officer / Chief Financial Officer
After more than 25 years of success in industrial automation, lighting controls, and industrial IoT, George Filtsos launched EcoGrid Technologies in 2017 to deliver turnkey, cash-positive energy efficiency projects to North American businesses. As of 2024, EcoGrid projects have enhanced the productivity, safety, and energy efficiency of more than 105 million square feet across North America, conserving over 11.88 MWh (and counting) of energy through its advanced wireless controls, Smart Power services, and IoT solutions.
With an extensive background at industry giants like Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB, Leviton, and GE, George’s diverse experience laid a solid foundation for our mission to enhance energy efficiency through cutting-edge technology.

With two decades of experience, George Tsikos specializes in designing, managing, and implementing complex enterprise applications across diverse sectors, including retail, supply chain, manufacturing, and e-commerce. Adept in big data applications, AI, and machine learning, he consistently drives practical, results-oriented solutions. His extensive expertise enables him to leverage cutting-edge technologies effectively, enhancing operational efficiency and innovation. Known for a strategic vision and hands-on leadership, George excels in transforming abstract ideas into technical solutions, fostering growth and competitiveness in today’s fast-paced digital landscape.
Todd Watson
Director of Sales and Marketing
With 25 years of proven leadership in product management and business development, plus four years of success as a senior energy consultant, Todd Watson’s personal mission is elevating North American businesses by mapping the intersections of energy savings, financial incentives and sustainability solutions. His mantra, “Every one of our projects is a referral,” is an indication of his commitment to professional relationships that are ongoing and custom solution focused.
Greg Sommers
President
A lifelong entrepreneur with an unshakable belief in the power of business to make the world better, Greg has 20 years of executive-level experience within large companies and successful small enterprises. With five years of leadership in delivering customized energy conservation projects to Ontario businesses, he sees Askiy as a catalyst for a new wave of climate change mitigation and carbon reduction – empowering businesses to effectively and affordably track and amplify their sustainability achievements.
Melanie Van Brugge
Senior Conservation Consultant
Since 2003, Melanie Van Brugge has brought excellence, diligence and a commitment to identifying and reaching client goals to roles ranging from business owner to sustainability consultant. Her experience in managing accounts and growing partnerships has led to her success in driving business development initiatives and building strong and collaborative professional relationships.

Jay Makhija, CEM, EIT
Senior Project Engineer
An Electrical Engineering graduate with four-plus years of experience in the energy industry. including two years of conservation demand management support, Jay brings quiet efficiency and effectiveness to all of Askiy’s operations.
Lori Bamber
Senior Communications Strategist
A senior writer and managing editor at RandallAnthony Communications for nearly two decades, Lori Bamber played a key role in producing hundreds of special reports for the Globe and Mail and Report on Business. Her articles have also been published in Chatelaine Magazine, Alberta Venture Magazine and BCBusiness Magazine. Earlier in her career, Lori co-hosted CKNW’s daily Moneyline, guest-hosted Money Talks on the Corus Radio Network, and appeared on major Canadian radio and television programs, including CBC’s Marketplace and NewsWorld as well as Global National Evening News. She is the author of seven books.
Today she’s focused on her grandchildren’s future, applying her skills and experience to the transition to a lower carbon economy.

Data Analyst
Anamika Chaudhary is a York University student in her third year of a degree program in statistics and mathematics. While studying, she has worked full-time in retail and food services, where she was quickly promoted to managerial positions. Her ambition is using mathematics and data analysis to help solve the world's most daunting problems, including climate change, and we're delighted to have her join our Askiy team.
